Only If Your Eyes (A Poem)

Author: Ignatius Tri Endarto

Only if your eyes can see

You’ll find the beauty of god in all beings

Only if your eyes can touch

You’ll find smoothness in your life,

even for the roughest part

Only if your eyes can hear

You’ll be startled by the words of god in all creatures

For as long as your eyes can promise

Every bit of blinks that they sip, no matter how bitter or sweet,

is a blessing unspoken and a story untold

For as far as your eyes can promise

You’ll never know when your eyes will shut

how your story will end

how it will be told and remembered

So only if your eyes can tell,

Let love be their last word,

For the word was their first and was the reason you started your story
